When do chicks get wattles and combs?

I have two chicks, one a polish and one a silkie. They are about five weeks old, and I just started to notice my silkie is getting tiny wattles and barley a comb. My polish has mostly rounded feathers and is a getting pale pink comb. I really hope they are pullets, but does it sound too soon for them to be getting those things? Or are they roosters?
