When do chicks need grit???

Okay so i'm expecting my chicks in about 11 days and they will be a day old, and i was wondering when exactly they need grit. i've read so many different things.... at what ages?? I've heard they need it once they're on solid food but is chick feed not solid then?

When their eating anything other the chicken feed, like treats.

I put in "chick" grit after a week or so once they are eating really well. Chick grit is smaller and has some extra minerals and stuff in it.
