At what age do cochins usually start laying? I think I heard that they are one of the slowest maturing breeds...

And is there a chart or some website that has this information for different breeds?

I'd like to know that myself. I have 2 black cochins that are about 6 months and not an egg in sight. They aren't even showing signs of maturity. C'mon, girls!

Cochins are one of the slowest maturing breeds. LF take even longer to mature than bantams. If you scroll up to the very top of the page, you'll see the link to the breeds page. Then you would scroll down and pick either bantams or LF to view their information. You could also check out the cochin thread under breeds, genetics and showing. Good luck!

My cochin started laying at about 30 weeks old. Otoh, she's now an extremely reliable layer.
