HI!

I have 3 three week old chicks (they will be one month on the 20th). Two of them (buff orpington and barred rock) will have a single comb and one (ameracauna) will have a pea comb. The two that will have a single comb have VERY little yellow combs. The one with a pea comb I can barely see it. So do these sound like hens? I am not allowed to have roosters where I live and am TERRIFIED

! Thanks!

If they are the ones in your avatar, you're going to have to wait a few more weeks to possibly determine sex.

The little one in the middle, which I'm guessing you are calling your Ameraucana, is actually an Easter Egger.

Those are the chicks when I first brought them home at four days old. Now they are almost 4 weeks old! I did kind of figure that she was an Easter Egger!

A rooster's comb usually starts to become noticeable btwn 4 to 10 weeks depending on the breed. Do you have any pics of them now?
