I have two female rouen ducks and two males. I have had them a year this spring and I have seen them matting this past fall but no eggs. any help would be appreciated.

They will start laying any time. Probably between now and June. What are you feeding them?

i feed them the finisher/egg production feed from TCS. This one I believe. It is Dumor.

Okay, that protein content is way too low.
I suggest an 18-20% feed. All flock feed or maintenance feed, with oyster shell provided free choice on the side. Laying feed fed to non-laying birds can actually harm them or slow down their development.
Also, they won't start laying until you have 12 or more hours of daylight.

Thank you I did not know all of this it is a great help.

One of my female Rouen ducks finally laid an egg this morning but it was cold and she will not sit on it. What is the best way to get her to sit on her eggs they are almost a year old. My females walk everywhere that my males go they are always in a group together and never separate more than 15 -20 feet from each other.

From the reading I have done on here and the duck bible (storeys) they wont sit on eggs until they have like 12 + eggs laid and in their nest.

I just wrote the date on it and am going to leave it in there and see what happens. If she lays more or if they both start laying and One starts brooding.
