My pullets are 16 weeks old and are fed growing pellets...........At how many weeks should I introduce/change food for them....they are now able to access their run through the day and clearly enjoy pecking in that environment........appreciate some advice here folks
You can actually keep them on grower as long as you want, if you also offer add calcium (oyster shell) when they begin laying. Usually people either start layer feed around 20 weeks or when eggs appear. Depends on the breed. If they are one that tends to start laying later on, like EE's, I'd wait for eggs.
mine are 15 weeks and still getting it, I am going to slowly transistion over to Layer feed in the next few weeks though, as far as I know it can't hurt them...maybe someone more intellignet and chicken savvy has a different opinion
