When should I pick up the eggs my chickens have laid? My friend (he has over 70 chickens that are range/coop chickens) says I should pick them up the same time each evening between 6-7 p.m. I am afraid the chickens will crush/eat/damage the eggs, so I have taken them out as I find them. I have 14 eggs to date from my 4 hens over the past 2 weeks. What is the correct time to pull out the eggs?

and Welcome To BYC! X4, just take them as you find them. It is often easier to pick them up once a day later in the afternoon if you have a large flock, as most hens will have laid eggs by then and you aren't arguing with the hens still sitting on the nests that haven't laid an egg yet.
