When do i stop feeding the chick feed and switch to layers feed??????

We have two other feed stores in town as well as the co-op, plus the ACE Hardware sells feed, too, but the co-op sells at the best prices and brands I like. If you have a brand of feed you're using, follow the instructions on the bag because they will have the whole series of feeds from that label, most likely.

Its depends if you feed a starter grower feed like the one in the sunrise recipe from purina mills then you feed for 16 weeks then switch to layer or other kinds like a flock raiser. If you have just starter feed about one or two bags then switch to grower for the rest of the time. Only one bag of starter for anywhere between 10 and 20 chicks, below ten you wont feed to whole bag, for 20+ chicks then you would use about two bags or starter approx. 3 weeks. It is better to use the purina mills recipe like i said earlier because you dont have to switch food on them until they get ready for layer feed!
