I have an OEG hen and rooster. The hen is about 20 and a half weeks old. We were wondering when she would start laying? Her comb has started growing a bit, and I've heard that means she'll start laying soon. Is that a sign? Here are some pictures of her and the roo.

Mine are about the same age as yours and still no eggs, it will probably be closer to six/seven months based on their development. Don’t you love the waiting game? I have a dozen bantam gals between five and six months old and only one layer in the whole lot for a magical first egg just this week.

Her comb looks a little to small to be laying yet. I have three silkies crossed with Plymouth rock and one laid her first egg yesterday at 15 weeks.

the black one looks pretty similar, but notice how her comb is getting bigger and is a lot redder

Thanks!
