When do roosters crow?

p.s to anyone who is reading this...can you please read my article "My Hen Has A White Tongue!"? because i need help with that!

Could be a infection. Fungus. Or type of yeast. Or thrush. Also Canker. You would want to use flagyl to treat if this is the case. Read up on canker check the symptoms and then if it matches use flagyl to treat. Hope this helps. Ps. If it is a type of yeast or fungus antibiotics will worsen the condition. Use Flagyl

I have been wondering about this. I have a 3 month old blue Ameraucana roo who hasn't crowed yet. I have seen him do the silent crow a few times... does that mean the real thing is coming soon? The breeder I got him from had plenty of roos around, and I bet he can hear the neighbor's one too.

I had my Ameraucana crowing at 7 weeks. The worst is the silkie crowing at 7 weeks...that one is loud as can be and sounds horrible. My others are 10 weeks and every once in a while one will let go, but most of them are still silent.

My roo is 10 weeks old, he is not around any other roosters though. When do you think he will start crowing?

How fast does the crow go to full volume? My almost 11 week old australorp just started yesterday (well, so that it sounds like a crow and not like he's being strangled...), but it's still pretty quiet- less than the volume of the hens chatter. So far I like the sound, but how much longer until it's really loud? It's 6 am here, and I think he's crowed about 30 times so far :/ I need a few more weeks to pack enough weight on them :D

My cockerel just started crowing today at 14 weeks. Doesn't sound pretty....at first i didn't know what it was, but then i could make out the sound. I read it only takes a couple days to get them sounding normally!

I have one rooster that crows so quite you don't even know he is crowing and he is just over a year old. Then i have a couple of rooster that can drown each other out they are so loud. It just depends on the rooster and his rank in he flock if there is more then one rooster.

Here's my black Ameraucana, the sure cockerel from week 4, that crowed at 8.5 weeks. First one of his siblings. [VIDEO]
