When do roosters start crowing??

Is there an approximate age they start trying to crow??

Mine did around 12 weeks, but I had a meat bird that crowed at 3 weeks!

How old are your chickens?

My polish crowed at 17 wks., but I've heard that some roosters don't crow for a whole year.

I have 2 that are...at about 11 weeks the first one started...then the 2nd at about 12 weeks...but then my other 3 haven't yet that I know of...

Obviously from all the prior posts it can occur at any time. Two of my 6 month olds started the same week. The other two haven't started yet and they are close to 7 months already.

My little banty EE just started crowing two days ago, he is 11 wks. He is trying really hard, but it is not sounding good. The first time I heard it, I ran full speed down to the coop in a panick. It sounded like something was dieing. Hopefully it will get better with time....I have another rooster that still has crowed.

I have 2 roosters, neither one crows yet. I wish they would get on with it!! One is about 4 months and the other 3 weeks behind him. The older one is a partridge cochin , the younger a Delaware Blue. I want crowing!!!
