When Do They Become Regular Layers?

This has probably been asked, but I'm probably putting the wrong words in the search engine .... I had one nineteen to twenty-week-old RIR lay an egg Tuesday (or maybe Wednesday), but nothing since. She doesn't even show anymore interest in the nest boxes like she was, so I'm assuming there's nothing in the pipes ready to come out just yet. When do they start becoming more regular layers?

I'm a newbie myself, as I haven't had chickens in 30 years and started again this year. I only have 2 laying right now. One of them, a speckled sussex, started laying 14 days ago and only missed ONE day in 14. The other, a cuckoo marans, started laying about 16 days ago and will go a couple days w/o laying, then lay 4 days in a row, then skip a day or two again. They're free range during the day but go to the nest box to lay next to the fake ceramic eggs I put in there

For the first few days the sussex laid, she was laying in the rose bushes so I put a fake egg there too. Better there than playing "easter egg hunt"! But now she's laying in the nest box which is even better. Anyway, I guess it "all depends on the individual chicken".
