when do they need grit?

    I thought they did not need it until they went outside...but I just read that chicks need grit?!
    starting when?

    If you are giving them treats, like grass clipping, then you should give them a bit of grit to go with it. From what I understand, chick feed has some grit in it already. Hope this is of some help to you!

  3. We put a bit of sand in their feed initially because our chick feed specifically stated that you needed to supply grit with it. So far, no problems and they're 16wks old... but then, I wonder if I'd be able to tell. [​IMG]
