When do they start clucking?

My 3 girls are about 17 weeks and they don’t cluck. They makes these adorable honking noises though. Just wondered if that’s normal or if they aren’t happy.

im sure they are happy.....i find older hens make more noise when they start to lay....i call it..... "singing the egg song!!!"

I love the 'honking' stage...it usually happens earlier than 17 weeks tho...but it's just their voices changing for peep to cluck.

I have one girl that sounds like a goose, still at 8 months old! She does it around egg laying time & she sounds ridiculous.

They started doing it a long time ago. I just wasn’t sure when the actual clucking started! I love the honking too!!
