I have a buff brahma, now 10 weeks old, tail fathers are turning iridescent so I'm assuming my girl is a boy..oh well...anyways, he/she sounds like a goose.....not quite a cluck not quite a coca doodle doo....If he/she turns out to be a boy...When will he start his crowing?

I've had chicks start crowing as young as 6 weeks old. It really depends on the specific bird, but in general, larger birds mature slower.

I have four roosters crowing at three months old. My polish isnt crowing yet though. Hes the only cockeral left that hasnt crowed yet.

Our Rhode Island Reds are 8 weeks old, and they're tuning up. They sound like someone's strangling them so far, but I'm sure they'll get the knack of it soon.

Guess I'll just wait & see :) maybe I'll get lucky and find out its a girl after all.
