WOW!!! 26 eggs a day. How many chickens is that from. I have 21 pullets 22 weeks old. I wonder how many to expect a day from them. I can't wait to give my family some eggs.

Well , I have a total of 68 hens , but 28 are actually laying right now .

4:00 PM egg hunt 27 eggs and 3 pullets still on the nest . SO , things are surely picking up ... :p

Around early afternoon in morning. But not too early, since sometimes not ALL 6 of the the Red Stars and Buff Orpingtons have laid their eggs; usually by afternoon they are done. Then, we get the egg basket and collect the eggs. Then we feed them their mash and corn and some treats, and at the end of the day they get shut up in the coop for bed. Next day, the same routine.

Its pouring down rain here , so happy we DO NOT have to go out and lock ours up .. they go in when its raining and go in when its time to roost and sleep ... and naturally go in to lay
VERY WELL TRAINED ......

Morning and just before sundown. Plus any other time during the day I happen to be walking past the building, which doesn't happen all that regularly this time of year

Mine go in on their own but I wouldn't trust them to be safe overnight without the door closed and locked. Even with a pen. Their odds of being a predators dinner goes up greatly when they aren't shut in a solid building overnight.

I just got my girls a few days ago. I keep checking constantly. I guess I'm just over excited. Day one and two I got 3 from my 5 hens and today only two.

Mine lay all day it seems. I collect them at the end of each day around 5p. The go in each evening around 8:30p. I was gone for 2 days and my chicken sitter didn't collect the eggs, I forgot to mention it.... I didn't eat them, instead I soft scrambled them and fed it back to them...the loved it...But are they okay for me to eat it they were out 2 days?
