When do you put in the nest box

I have some 8 week old pullets and I am not sure when to put the nest boxes in. I was told not to put them in to early.

Some pullets start laying at around 20 weeks. Some later than that. Their combs and wattles will turn red before they start to lay too. You could always do what I did and wait til you find your first egg laying on the floor! Whoops.
