When do you guys start to winterize your duck coop? Last year I was on top of it but this year I have been dealing with personal issues.. I am going to start today.. it definitely needs a DEEP CLEAN! 🧼 🧽 🦆 and I need to buy more bird bath warmers!

We clean it about monthly or bi-monthly regardless.

For waterer, we use a heated bucket. I think it's 3 gallons. Farm stores sell those. We lay straw and/or horse bedding pellets around it so if they splash water, they won't slip on ice.

I guess it depends on where you live. If I lived in Michigan, I would probably already have covered all the lower ventilation around my coup, but since I live in Maryland, I still have time lol we might get down to freezing by the end of October but generally there is not a hard freeze until at least December I still have all their duck pools out and they’re enjoying them if it goes down to 29° overnight there’s just a thin layer of ice on top that’s fine but if it goes 26 or lower, I’m going to have to put away the pools and bring out the cement mixing tubs
