Our 5 week olds are now in the run and house 24/7. So is their food which is bringing in mice. I bag the feeder at night, but it’s still out 12-13 hours a day. The girls do stomp/beak the mice to death Im assuming because I have now found two dead with no obvious injuries.

I’d like to start limiting the time the feed is out, because I think thats what is bringing the mice in. The run is under our deck, and against the house. And I dont want a mouse in the house.

At what age can you just feed morning and night? They’re not big on foraging right now, and there’s too many hawks about to leave them to it in the garden.

I never stoped leaving out food 24/7. My advice: get a kitty, or ask to borrow a friend's cat for a week. Let them scare away the mouses for a while.

They don't need food when it's dark out. I put out food in the morning, then take it in at night.
This is pretty much what I do. But the mice are around. Im allergic to cats and my border collie would probably chase the cat away. I’ll just keep fighting the good fight.
