My broody hen hatched 3 chicks about 2 weeks ago..........

Today I found a blue egg (she's my only blue egg-layer) in the shaving on the droppings board.
Is this about right?
I didn't think she's start laying until her chicks are 'weaned' away from her................

That's pretty early, but anything is possible. Mine seem to cut the chicks loose either just before or just after they start laying again so keep an eye on things. At two weeks old you'll probably have to brood the chicks yourself for awhile if she's decided that she's done being a mommy.

Our broody's babies are almost 3 weeks and today I found the tiniest egg - smaller then any pullet eggs I saw so far. It is the color one of black hens is laying and our broody's eggs were that color too. Can it be hers? I would guess the egg has no yolk.
