alot of my confusion was when the lady at the hatchery told me the light colored chicks were the pullets i ordered - i wasnt sure the extent that the feather colors change and at what age you can look at a chicken and say "that is a white chicken" (and i know i didnt order any white chickens so...) i still have alot to learn - but im sure having fun - cant wait till the coop is finished.

In your pictures I see:
1. Easter egger
2. Light brahma
3. GLW
4. GLW
5. GLW
6. EE
7. EE
8. Probably white leghorn cockerel

The EE's have muffs on their faces and green legs.

i feel better now

i cant tell you how puzzled i was when the lady i spoke with on the phone told me the light chicks were my pullets as they morphed into big white birds with the most ginourmous combs (which i think are so neat) they are going to be 7wks on wednesday. the coop will be done saturday - finally. the buff orps are easy to id and the light brahmas (with their feathered legs). the buffs are so friendly and calm to handle. much thanks for the feedback.

Just wondering if pic # 2 have feathers on her feet and legs? I can't tell from the pic. My light brahmas do. Thankyou Sandy

actually i was posting #2 as the silver laced wyandotte that i had ordered (at least thats what i thought she was). my light brahmas look very different than #2 - they have alot of solid white on the body and black/gray around the hackles - my dh said they looked like ospreys when they were littler - they both have feathering around the lower legs and feet - have barely visible beginnings of light yellow nubs for combs and no visible wattles - their legs are yellow and eyes dull green - very calm and friendly like the orps. wow i think im starting to get the chicken lingo down
