When does black shoulder male start getting colors

I have several black shoulder chicks that are between 7 and 10 months old. Two of them are darker than the other one but still have only white and black feathers. I am told they are all females but I am curious as to at what age does the male black shoulder start to get his colors? I haven't been able to find it on the internet so thought I would ask here. Any answers out there?

Your BS boys should be getting color now. Here is a Bronze BSWE starting to color in but it will be a full three years or more for the full transformation.

At 10 months, we can distinguish males from females at Black shoulder.
The males are dark and begin to have black spots on the belly.

Black Shoulders are the easiest to tell, unless there is spaulding in them you can see what they are within four to five months.

There are young roosters who are 3 years old and still have creamy white feathers. Blue BS also takes 3 years to have irridescent wings !
