When do you know you have gone to far with a chicken fetish? I realized how much money I spent on chicks

when is it too far and time to admit there is a problem..

if i stay under $500 in bird purchases, I'm golden!

My first year I bought and bought and bought....quantity. Before I knew it I had almost 300 birds!

Sold them all off. Kept my core interests and now I stay around the 50 count mark. BUT the price of the birds has gone up since I concentrate on the quality of the birds now.

I do really have to make myself stay on task though and it is HARD!!!

I have a chicken problem and i will admit it!!! I have a barn 18 X 20 packed full of brooders with about 200 chicks- they are in my extra bedroom and another small 8x8 brooder outside- and 140 in the bators.... I have to slow down some too...

Signs of Addiction
You’re neglecting your responsibilities at school, work, or home (e.g. flunking classes, skipping work, neglecting your children) because of your chickens.
You’re using chickens under dangerous conditions or taking risks while high, such as driving while on chickens, using dirty needles, or having unprotected sex.
Your chicken use is getting you into legal trouble, such as arrests for disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, or stealing to support a chicken habit.
Your chicken habit is causing problems in your relationships, such as fights with your partner or family members, an unhappy boss, or the loss of old friends.

Common signs and symptoms of chicken addiction
You’ve built up a chicken tolerance. You need to buy/hatch more of the chickens to experience the same effects you used to with smaller amounts.
You use chickens to avoid or relieve withdrawal symptoms. If you go too long without chickens, you experience symptoms such as nausea, restlessness, insomnia, depression, sweating, shaking, and anxiety.
You’ve lost control over your chicken use. You often buy chickens or eggs more than you planned, even though you told yourself you wouldn’t. You may want to stop hatching, but you feel powerless.
Your life revolves around chickens. You spend a lot of time watching and thinking about chickens, figuring out how to get them, and recovering from the chicken’s effects.
You’ve abandoned activities you used to enjoy, such as hobbies, sports, and socializing, because of your chicken habit.
You continue to buy/hatch chickens, despite knowing it’s hurting you. It’s causing major problems in your life—blackouts, infections, mood swings, depression, paranoia—but you buy anyway.

Edited to make more "chicken appropriate"

oh wait. I'm not an addict. I'm a social hatcher. I only hatch when I'm out with friends and I never hatch and drive.

It's not an addiction. I'm just hatching for fun. I can quit any time I want.

I am actually brining in 20 more chickens because my buddy (who lives in a condo) wants some chickens.... Am I nuts! (Don't answer that... I already know)
