I am helping a few chicks out if there egg cause they are pippin and the last time they didn't male it so I wanted to make sure they got out and the second membrane started bleeding on the chicks I helped.......I'm real worried is this ok or what please someone let me know!!!!

You should never help a chick out! Its dangerous and they're are more likely to die. You seem not to have patience. (no offense) Chick's take different amounts of time to hatch. If you keep opening the incubator, then that will cause them to die in the shell. You should only help if its a huge emergency. If they keep bleeding, they will probably die. Just put them in the incubator and don't open it! Next time you hatch eggs, don't worry about them not hatching. Let nature take its time.

Thank you,I know you shouldn't help if they don't need it but my last hatch would pip than not progress so I didn't want the same thing to happen

I think that there are times to assist and times not to assist hatch. If they have pipped, give them 24 hours to try zipping. Usually, they can help themselves out in that amount of time. If not, there could be something wrong, such as being shrink wrapped or just not ready to come out. But if they are making slow progress, they should just be left alone. As long as they have oxygen to breathe, they should be fine. When there is bleeding, it means that the veins haven't receded enough for the chick to come out, and likely, they are still absorbing the yolk, so it's best to leave them alone. I would suggest wrapping the egg with a wet paper towel to keep the inner membrane soft and moist so that they don't get shrink wrapped.

Thank you Aacre,I'm so releaved now cause a couple minutes ago another banty chick hatched ......
