I have 13 guinea eggs in one nesting box and 2 silkie eggs.

Sometimes one of the hens lays an egg along w/those.

When can I expect a hen to go broody? or my Silkie to decide to?

I know its a stretch getting a guinea to.

I know, I know: patience is a virtue....one that I dont have

You need to remove the silkie eggs and keep them cool but not refrigerated and turn them. The guinea eggs need to incubate for 7 days then add the silkie eggs back to the nest if you want them to hatch at the same time.

I hatched her in early fall last year. She has only layed about 3 eggs so far this spring

I don't think you can "expect" it to happen anytime other than when she is dern good and ready.

I am up to 4 freaking broody hens right now, and I don't want any! Why does it work out this way?It would be great if I was a breeder, but I am not!

I have 1 on eggs, 2 in broody jail, and one in a nest box till I can release someone from jail. I would have 5 had I not broken one last week!

I swear, they keep this up I am getting leghorns. I want eggs!

Then you may have to wait a while.

I got my chicks from Ideal Sept. 4 of '08 and I got my first silkie egg at the end of February.
