Hey Crazy_chicken_gal - I am exactly the same way!!! See my introduction post:

I found that my babies are much more hardy then i ever thought. They are hardy, it's me that is scared and fussy
On day one I made up my mind that I would probably lose a chick over time, and not to be upset about it, but it doesn't work that way AT ALL. My 4 babies each have their own personalities. If I lost one I would be devastated.
I am in no way a expert but here was my experience:
1) started them outside, then read about grit to digest food other than feed, freaked out, bought grit. They are fine. I was a mess.
2) started them outside, the sun went behind a cloud, it felt a little chilly and windy, freak out, brought them in despite protest on their part. They are fine. I was a mess.
3) put a small branch in the brooder to roost on, read about bumblefoot, freaked out, took the perch out. Chickens were mad they lost their perch. I was a mess. Chickens did not have bumble foot.
4) Chicken poo looked runny. Freaked out. Researched Chicken poo. I was a mess. Chickens were fine.
I could go on and on......... you get the picture. Chickens are now outside in their coop (see https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/coop-elation-if-i-can-do-this-you-can-do-this.75747/)
The really seem happy and healthy. I, however, am still worried sick!
