I bought new chicks a few months ago, and just used one of those large transparent rubbermaid or similar brand tubs, with one of those bendy clamp-on lamps on one end, and sat the whole thing over into the bathtub. I could only use a 75 watt bulb in the lamp, not 100 watt as recommended for a brooder, but I have one of those bathroom lights with 5 huge bulbs in it and it heats up my bathroom when the door is closed, so it made it nice and toasty in there for them. You might set something like that up Just make sure the clamp on the lamp is nice and tight so it doesn't fall off into the tub. We had really good luck with it.
