When is the best time to get chicks?

Oh boy! I did not no that they would fight when i put the new group in with the old group. hmmmmm something to figure out for sure when the time comes. If all the ones i have now are roos they will be in the skillet so i won't have a problem with that. LOL!!
If i did keep a roo or two are they also mean to the new group of girls or are they like well hello ladies?

Strange as it might sound, My roosters are actually a little nicer to the chicks than some of the more dominant hens. Go figure!

My roo's do not chase or harm my chicks, only the other hens do that.
Don't know about introducing rooster to hens, I have no experience, but my guess is they'd say....Hello ladies!!!!!

Prepare now for next year's season -- order a batch of 25 to arrive on the first of each month, so you'll never be chickless! You can never have TOO many chicks!

Laughing...Okay, okay...I really wanted to say EVERY DAY instead of EVERY MONTH, but I can't find a hatchery that will deliver that often!

Now can you imagine if you got 25 chicks a day! Holy Cow!!!

Question,
what is the best way to get the poop out of the yard in there fenced off area?? any suggestions anyone?

The most effective way I have found to get poop out of their run is to walk in, give them a treat, talk to them, and then leave. When you get out of the run, check your shoes and you will be amazed at how much poop you have removed.
