When is the best time to put on hen

I waited til dark after they were all settled in then went in with a headlamp on so I could have both hands free. I found that this worked the best for me and the girls. I got ones that matched their feathers. They slept in them and woke up in them. Adjusted very well.

Good luck!

Thanks Scooterward. I covered the pattern with muslin and put it on her. All was good until I went back out to feed and somehow while I was in there she got one side off. When the roo's saw the bottom they screamed again. So it has to be the color. I thought it would be a good color cause close to the hens color. They are RIR's. Guess I was wrong. Had someone tell me it could not be because the roo's thought it was blood cause they are color blind. I did not argue with him cause he is in his late 60's and thinks he is always right. Oh well I will keep trying. Thought about ordering some but I spent over 30 dollars on all the material for these.

It may not be the blood, it may be the pattern. The paisley swirl looks very close to the EYES of owls that they put on balloons and float about gardens. The roo may have thought Predator!
