The chicks we hatched are 2 weeks old now. I don't know how to sex by the wing, so yea

One I think is a boy. Second one born, biggest chick, feathering out slow, and has a ferocious appetite for beetle grubs. The large size is because I think it'll take after Melvin, who is the father, who is a light sussex. Pretty okay temperment though. The barred rock x light sussex babies are kinder.
Also any tip on sexing 2 week old chicks? I'm eager to know what I have!
Their legs all look the same, so the whole thick leg thing doesn't help.

Wing sexing probably would not have worked for them anyways since I doubt you know if your rooster is pure for the slow feather gene and the the mother pure for the fast feather gene? Only if you breed 2 birds like that together can you wingsex the chicks. There is no sure way to sex them this young unless you know how to vent sex.

In most breeds by 6-8 weeks you can have a pretty good guess what each bird is gender wise.

As a chicken breeder patience is key!

You need to post pics with these requests, because it is hard enough to tell sex sometimes, even with the picture! Maybe wait a few weeks, it will be easier to tell.

Well Melvin is pure light sussex.. The mom, of the big chick taking after Melvin, is a buff orpington x brahma. The other moms are purebred barred rock and standard cochin.
We don't wanna keep em' til they crow, haha :S We figured on keeping any girls, and selling boys for a couple bucks or something. Man... So what about silkies?
In the future I want a couple females for my roo Skippy to hatch baby Skippies. I used the toe trick on him, and yes, he was roo. But is there another way?
