When ordering chicks...I want only hens..

We ordered pullets (female) through Ideal Poultry. They came when expected and they came in good health. We ordered "sex links" which are supposed to be sexed according to color, somebody will correct me ifin I am wrong.

Years back, I went to the local feed store and got 4 straight run chicks- I should have know, with my luck- 4 roosters! The nice lady who runs the place sold 3 of them for me, so that was a good ending! (I already had hens)

Last year, I went for 6 pullets- but the runt was sooooo cute, I said ok, I'll take her too.
I figured I'd have at least one roo in the bunch, but no, all hens. My lucky day!

Thanks to you all for your suggestions. I actually put in an order @ My Pet Chicken last year but they were all on back order and due to the small quantity could not be delivered to my local post office. Would have had to drive near 80 miles to pick them up at another location, which I would gladly do. Will most likely try that avenue again since we want specific breeds.
