when should i clip my cannda geese wings or should i?

Why do you want to clip them? Do you have close neighbors? Large predator problems? Are you going to be free ranging?

They stand a much greater chance of escaping predators if they can fly.

A goose around here lived to the ripe old age of 39. She was half Greylag and flew really well. She survived four husbands, all domestic and killed by predators (red fox) - she'd just fly out of range.

Oh, man. If I had a swimming pool and the neighbor's geese kept flying into it and pooping, I'd be really ticked off.

Yes, you need to clip their wings so the can't fly and put up enough fence so that they can't walk over there, or leave your property.

Actually, it works best to clip one wing instead of clipping both. Get it done before the neighbors get so irritated that they harm your geese.

Good luck to you.

I too would get mad over a neighbors goose in my pool. Heck I get mad when the door doesn't close on the pool screen and one of OUR geese or ducks gets in the pool. As OB said, clip one wing and make sure to have adequate fencing to keep them in.
