Wait - how old are they now? I think @WVduckchick has successfully brooded babies with decent age gaps.

There is quite a noticeable size difference, like they are NOT the same size, BUT the big ducklings seem to be REALLY friendly and so far gentle with the new duckling, I have been watching them and they seem quite friendly and not agressive, my sisters ducklings were kinda aggressive when I just held the ducklings near them, these ducklings are definetely not acting that way and are being a lot nicer, although it still is a decent jump from their size differenceWait - how old are they now? They are around 2 weeks old, some a little under 2 weeks I think, not EXACTLY sure right this moment but I know its around thereWait - how old are they now? I think @WVduckchick has successfully brooded babies with decent age gaps.
I would use the damp cloth in a bowl trick. Put him in a small bowl with a damp (not wet) cloth, and leave him in the bator until it closes up.@Overo Mare duckling A is doing great with the other ducklings, the other egg hatched, but it has kinda a open navel, or fresh or whatever you want to call it, should I leave it in the incubator? How long do you think it will take to start to be ok to go with the other ducklings, or if it needs to, by itself?
the cloth just on the floor of the bowl? And would a towel work you think? I have other things I could use but I am just wondering if a small towel would be the bestI would use the damp cloth in a bowl trick. Once it's closed and he's more active, introduce him to the brooder and watch to make sure he's not roughed up too much.
I've never had to do it. Let's see if Shaw is around.the cloth just on the floor of the bowl? And would a towel work you think? I have other things I could use but I am just wondering if a small towel would be the best
As long as the navel is closed and it's active, it's okay for the brooder!@Overo Mare just put it in a bowl, but I checked on it again, and it looks SO, SO much better, like basically just normal now. It was never BAD, but I thought it was worth doing something, but it has changed a lot and isnt really anything at all anymore, is it still worth putting in the bowl? and you think it needs any longer before the brooder?
