Last year was my first year of trying to raise geese. She didn't lay regularly, only an egg a week. She also didn't go broody until July and only lasted a week before she gave that up. Am hoping for better results this year as they are more mature. Last year they always mated when I filled up their little pool. Is it too early to start filling the pool, maybe every other day? Our nights are still chilly as in 20s and teens. Not sure if we'll get another cold snap as this is only my second winter in Montana. Last winter was unusually cold and snowy. I don't want to start filling the pool too soon as too much ice might form as it's dumped out. I don't want to miss their prime breeding season either. Will they mate without the water in the pool?
