when should i stop providing a heat source for my ducks?

i feel like i post on this forum every secomd of the day but i could really use you guys’ help. my ducklings are about 2 weeks old now and i don’t know when i should stop providing a heat source for them. i’m more than certain that they are feathering and they are growing quickly. i’d there a certain time or age where i should stop having them under the heat light ?

You should lower the brooder temperature by 5 degrees each week until you reach ambient temperature, whatever that is for you. Most are done with heat by 3-8 weeks depending on climate and time of year.

so should i just move the light higher up, or purchase another bulb that gives off less heat?

I generally move my bulb up weekly. I personally only use a 125 watt bulb. If you are using a 250 you may want to switch.

I forgot who but someone on here talked about a dimmer switch in your cord to lower the light/ heat as needed
