I’m currently brooding quails indoors. I will be moving them to a garage-type building soon and am wondering when I should take their heat block away. They are fully feathered and in a pen indoors. The temp is around 55 in that room. They comfortably run around the pen and don’t seem to crowd underneath the block too much.

If they are fully feathered (around six weeks), then they should be fine without heat. I usually remove heat around 3-4 weeks if they're indoors and start acclimating them to outdoor temperatures so they're completely cold hardy by around 8 weeks. If the weather is warm, they may get kicked outside as early as 4-5 weeks.
