When should my hens start laying?

I have 2 modern game bird hens that 6-8 months and I don’t know when they should start laying?

Are you in the Northern hemisphere? If so you may not get eggs now till Spring. They need 12-14 hours of daylight to lay, and if they haven't started by now they may not until the days lengthen. You could add some artificial light each day to jump-start the laying process, but some feel it shortens their lifespan.
