Hi
We got 3 light Brahmas, 3 silver wyandottes and 4 blue anadolins in May that were appox. a week old. We were wondering when they should start laying?
Thank you

Most pullets start at anywhere from 18-24 weeks. Some don't until 6-7 months old.
Are they squatting yet?
Combs still pink or turning red?
Singing the egg song.
Post some pics!

Hello,
My Pullets range from 16 to 19 weeks old....
Once combs and wattles get bigger and turn red...You will get eggs...The egg song is not a true indicator for eggs..I have had hens that never sing the song..Interest in the nest boxes can happen a couple of weeks before they lay...
My Danish Brown hen has been in the boxes for two weeks checking things out..No egg...My Bantam hen showed no interest till I hung the curtains two days ago and she laid her first egg yesterday...Only the Chicken knows when she will lay an egg...

Keep waiting...It will happen..

Cheers!
