Does there need to be a pip before you can help a hatch? I don't really want to help hatch but I really Don't want to see this baby die. Hatch day was Friday 22nd there is two eggs one of them for sure is still rocking. The other I thought there was movement when candled yesterday/last night. Temp is 99 Humidity is 79-80 its been pretty much steady through lockdown. What can I do? ~Julie~

Go with your gut feeling!!
You will be ok, youve done it before

I dont want to tell you to go ahead and help itout coz someone might dissagree.
But let me put it this way. If it was MY DUCK in there I would get him out, it might be that hes shrink wrapping or something, I dunno. But thats what I would do.

Where there isnt enogh humidity for it to move round in the shell and the inner membrane becomes dry around them shrink wrapping them in the shell and they suffocate
If your air sac looks huge and it goes down the sides of the shell and looks unusual, then its shrink wrapping so go in and get it out

Julie If you are POSITIVE its been 28 days and its 33 now get him out. Do it SLOWLY starting at the top and work your way down. If you see a large yolk sac in there STOP and just lay all it down carefully.(But you should'nt) As long as the head can move freely you still are alright. Then he should go the rest of the way on his own.
