When the temp gets below zero...

I added lots of tarps. It’s so nice!!! The wicked wind can be blowing and I’ll go inside the run and sit in my chair and it’s nice. What a HUGE difference. I got some
happy girls. :wee

I got tarps on two sides and clear plastic on the other two sides. I have to do something different next year for the clear plastic because I got one that is obsessed with pecking at the plastic. I've ran out of wood covering spots, but having that up makes a world of difference.

My pop door is always open for them to access the run, 24/7. When I go out for morning chores, the people door is open and they can go outside if they want. Some would rather stay in, most make a beeline for outside but it’s their choice. I’ve had even Silkies go outside in the snow when it was 9 degrees out there. We are in Northwest Wyoming, not far from Yellowstone Park, so we can get some brutal winters. Yes, there are chickens under all that snow:
