When to Feed Layer?

Chickenbaguette that's kinda what I figured that why I give them a scoop in the am and free range them at night and I've never had anything bad happen in fact the chicks I feed layer pellets too seemed healthier than the ones I did not.

They get locked up at night and I only range them while im home to watch
