Hi, I have a chick who must have started to hatch sometime during the night. It has finished unzipping and started to try and get out of the egg. Is he/she okay? I don’t know how long it has been like this? Is it just tired? I can still see it breathing so it is alive. It tries to struggle out from time to time but it doesn’t do anything. I have another chick in the incubator but it’s not doing any help. When would you start assisting a hatch??

Once it's got that far there's not much that can go wrong to be honest. It looks like it's very close to coming out.
Wait a couple more hours and see what happens.
If all else fails you can quite simply gently remove that small top piece of shell to allow the chick to wriggle free.

Thank you, I’m a first time Hatcher😂
