When to help? When to worry?

No it's ok! Like I said, I'm new and I want to make sure I make the best decisions in the care of this little guy.

To answer your question lacrystol, the boyfriend is smitten although still a little heartbroken about the other two. :( make the best of what we've got. :)

Krissy I'm not familiar with the other breeds discussed (different breeds here in Aus). I've only ever had wood ducks and now muscovies. And I have to say, I agree with Lacrystol about imprinting. I think it's much preferable to a semi domestic scovy. When they're not imprinted they seem to be more (for lack of better wording) duck-like. I got my scovies at 2 wks and they were too old to imprint and now even though they are pets and friendly, they don't like to be handled and they have just come into thier teens.
Oh my lord they are stroppy and difficult!! And I'm not exaggerating. My boys a real little punk at the moment:-/
If I'd gotten them just that bit younger, I wouldn't be having any trouble with him now.
As for scovies, they are the most gentle and quiet breed I have ever known. And they're so full of personality it always amazes me!!
Each one seems very unique so please don't feel cheated that he's likely a scovey, it's a blessing in disguise:)

Good. The more I research and more I hear on them, the better I feel about it. My boyfriend teases and says that he's gonna have a face only a mother could love. I'm trying to get more pics of his beak but my camera wants to suddenly quit working.:/ Naturally.

He's bright and alert and chewing me all up. I had him out for a few minutes and his nose got watery. Normal?

He hadn't had access to water for about 10 minutes

Maybe he was just getting some gooky stuff maybe some leftover stuff from when he was in that shell. It was pretty thick there at one point.. If it keeps up then you want to be worried..

I have nine calls due to hatch Friday and I can honestly tell you this is going to be my biggest challenge ever... Why

Take a look at this egg:

700

Looks empty right or dead right? Nope still alive and moving. Here's his video

He's either not going to make it until Friday or he could possible come out deformed. Will wait and see. What happened? When I cleaned my bator last time, I had put the fan on upside down, so he wasn't get the oxygen. Nor the correct temp. Yeh sometimes we make stupid mistakes, that's why I say fix them and don't repeat them..
