We are going to work downwards, most of the veins are at the top will stay away from that, although I doubt it very much that he has any blood in his veins.
 
We want to work downwards so that he has more room, what's going to happen is his head will fall downwards as you get the shell off then you'll be able to grab that beak and pull his precious little head out, you don't want to pull so hard that his entire body comes out no. No just his head we need to let him get the feet and rump out...
