When to intervene with duck egg

No veins that I could see. Even looked thru the hole and everything looks good. The little bugger is chirping away. And looks like it’s trying to zip around but just seems to be struggling

Looking at the bill, is it chewing and or yawning at all?

Nope. It has knocked off another small part of the shell. But not getting very far getting through the membrane

If it's zipping, it should be able to bust out of the egg if it gets around a good part of the egg. Sounds like you're going to have a duckling very soon

I don't like to let a zip stall for more than an hour, but you'll find people that do things different ways. If it stalls for more than an hour, I usually finish the zip (only the shell in a thin line, starting from the hatchlings starting point) and place it back in the incubator so it can bust out of the membrane whenever it's ready. Hopefully this little one won't need any help.

We have a new duckling!!!! Looks like it hatched within the last hour while I was sleeping
