When to introduce oyster shell to chicks?

Oyster shell is a calcium supplement, it's not necessary to introduce it until your chicks become pullets who are laying eggs. I've never heard it recommended at all for chicks.
X2 dont give it to them until they start to lay eggs and once the time comes leave it on the side for them bc they'll eat it on their own

I am also in Alberta and have been having trouble finding anything labeled as chick grit anywhere. My chicks are 3 weeks old and ate their bedding at first and I also wanted to give some treats so I went to a pet store and found fine grit for pet birds. They love it and have done great with it :)
I tried this as well when I was new, but all of the ones I found had added minerals like calcium.

They are better off only eating properly formulated feed for chicks, and if you want to give them a treat, scrambled eggs are the best thing to give, they won't need grit to digest them.

Overall, I guess I should go shopping for some small grit no added calcium. But only when I am ready to vary their diet from chick grower feed.
Thankyou to everyone who has given advice, much appreciated.
