I have two ducks that were born right around Easter and I am feeding them flock raiser. My question is when should I move them on over to layer feed? At the age that they are at right now would they not be laying around August time frame? And if so, should I give them it the beggining of August or little later like when I meet see the signs of laying?
I did this with chickens but it seems different with ducks to me for some reason.

Also, on the back of the bag of flock raiser I think it said to feed it to them untill they are 18 weeks old and them switch them over. That would be roughly four months. So any advice would be appreciated.

The food that we use says chick crumbs up until 6 weeks, growers pellets from 6-16 weeks and then layers after 16 weeks. We just go by that

I'd say if you're unsure, just stick with what it says on the packet unless you see some definite signs of any laying and think they need to be switched to the new food quickly
