I've got 5 ducklings about to hit 5 weeks. Their bellies are completely covered in regular feathers, their wings are covered in some feathers, along with splatches on their necks and faces. They still have quite a bit of down on their backs.

Should I wait before moving them outside? They'll be in a building without heat and have full access to the outdoors.

I've included a screenshot of our weather predictions for the week. Should I wait until they have a few more feathers by 6 weeks? They'll be 6 weeks on the 28th of March.

Usually by 5 weeks I'm moving my chickens outside. I'm admittedly getting impatient 🥴 these guys are stanky.

If you're concerned about them, just put them inside the building for the first week.
Ducklings take longer to feather than chicks, but they do not need as much heat as chicks. You can put them out.

Thanks y'all! After tonight I'll move them out. It's going to be 28F but warm up really quickly after.
