When to move outside?

My chicks are 6 weeks old tomorrow, with a few that are 7 weeks old now.

I'm in the process of building my coop now, and was wondering when I should bring my birds outside.

Here's the monthly averages and such for my area. We are still pretty cold here, and the weather is very volatile.

How much longer should I wait before they go out? I don't want to hurt them, but I'm ready to get the smell out of my room.

I read a few threads on this, but they're all for later summer and spring, especially in warmer areas.

How old do my birds need to be to go out in potential single digit weather?

I put them out when they have most of there feathers but if it's really cold I would put extra wood shavings, Paper shreddings or other warm stuff that they can cuddle into like a blanket.

Hi, you can generally put them outside full time when they're fully feathered, around 8 weeks old. They will cuddle together on the roost to keep warm.
