When to process mutts?

My broody hatched two little Barred Rock X Australorp mixes. At this point, they both look like roos, so they will have to go. I'd love to eat them. At what age do I process dual purpose roos?

Usually not before 12 weeks and most of the time arounf 18 ro 20 weeks, it usually takes that long to put any meat on the bones, IMO.

I did my ameraucanas at 5-6 months and they were like 3.5 lbs. Dee licious!

In the past, you processed them depending on what type of bird (egg, meat, or dual) and what you wanted to use them for (frying, roasting, etc.). i go with 16 to 24 weeks depending on the individual bird.. dual purpose birds tend to grow bone before adding on muscle tissue so i like to make sure each one has filled out before slaughter
